What Is the Disney College Program?

The Walt Disney Company owns and runs the nationwide paid internship known as the Walt Disney World College Program, which might be your ticket to a job at the Magic Kingdom.

College-age students can apply to participate in a very difficult and demanding program. However, it can also provide you with a clear advantage in terms of assimilating into Disney’s distinctive culture and diverse society.

The Disney College Program might be ideal for you if you’re a college student interested in working for one of the most well-known and adored entertainment companies in the world and don’t mind reporting to a huge mouse.

We also chatted with program alumna Jennifer Tatum to get a sense of what the Disney College Program is truly like.

Jennifer, who lives close to the shores of Lake Michigan, is a professional substitute teacher, a mother of three, a wife, and a storyteller.

In the summer of 1993, Jennifer received her doctorate degree, the top award given to Disney University alums.

For those of you who are knowledgeable about Disney history, the studio had recently received a Best Picture Oscar nomination for Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin was a smash hit, and The Lion King was soon to be released.

Disney “was right at the forefront of experimenting with CGI in animation,” according to Jennifer.

From what she refers to as “the epicenter” of innovation in entertainment, media, and animated film creation, Jennifer gives us an inside peek at the Disney curriculum, culture, and experience.

Be sure to read about Jennifer’s experiences if you’re thinking about applying to Disney’s College Program. They are restructive, in our opinion.

Be aware that there are only a very limited number of spaces available for this program, that applying is difficult, and that the program is tough.

If you do receive it, though, you’ll be able to decide for yourself whether working with Disney is the right choice for you and you’ll have an advantage over the competition as you try to develop a Disney career.

What is the point of the Disney?

According to their website, the Disney College Program is a five to seven-month internship program designed to give students on-the-job experience working at the parks and resorts, participating in college coursework, and meeting and living with different people from across the world in company-sponsored housing.
